Jeep Windshield Defect Class Action Lawsuit
Case Overview
A group of Jeep drivers has initiated a class action lawsuit against Fuyao Glass America Inc., the supplier of windshields to Jeep. The complaint alleges that windshields in specific Jeep models, including the Wrangler and Gladiator from 2016 onward, possess a design flaw that makes them highly susceptible to cracking, fracturing, or chipping even under normal use, such as when using the defroster or being struck by small debris.
The plaintiffs claim that this defect creates a safety hazard by reducing driver visibility and compromising the vehicle's structural integrity. Furthermore, the lawsuit alleges that Fuyao Glass America was aware of this defect through its own testing but failed to disclose it to consumers. The claims seek damages for replacement costs, as well as restitution and disgorgement of profits, and injunctive relief to mandate notification of owners and warranty extensions.
The lawsuit is currently active, and plaintiffs are seeking various forms of compensation and corrective action. The plaintiffs are represented by Bruce H. Nagel of Nagel Rice LLP. The case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
